NOW FULLY OPEN.

While autumn is in its full glory we have reached a happy point in the construction of the Boredom Buster Park.  The landscaping is all but complete and most importantly, much of the area has been seeded or laid with turf.  The frames for the swings have been installed as well as the sand pit and those creatures from the deep, the dragon and snakes!  The foundations for the embankment slide will be completed shortly, but the chute will not be put in place until the spring.  The area will be left to “settle” over the winter months and as soon as spring arrives, the ‘Jump Around’ will be installed, the chute put in place and the swings attached to their frames.  Finally, the ground on the lower area will be reseeded.  With so much ground-work involved with this project we have been much dependent on the weather.  We hope for an early, dry spring for completion of the project.

Equipment manufacturer and contractor for the work is John Crosby who's locally based company See Level Design is very skilled in such matters.

Now what could this lot be? Are they some ancient creatures that have crawled out of Balcary Bay and slid up the Auchencairn Burn?

Strange creatures in the park.

Have a guess, have a look at the 'gallery' or be brave and go down the park and check them out.

If visiting the build site please be mindful of safety.
The project is funded by: Dumfries & Galloway Council, Landfill Tax Credit Scheme, Awards for All, Children in Need Loreburn Housing Association, the Lothian, Borders & Angus Co-op and the village.

In the meantime we would be very grateful if people could refrain from approaching anywhere close to where work is being undertaken as it is a very difficult area to protect from public access.
