 ANSWERING THE CALL: AUCHENCAIRN AND THE FIRST WORLD WAR

A hardback book with jacket sleeve, 256 pages, over 100 photographs (b&w and colour):

The main focus of the book is the lives and fate of those who died; the eighteen men named on the village memorial and seventeen men with links to Auchencairn who are commemorated on memorials elsewhere.

'Sons of Galloway' is written and published by Stuart Wilson of Auchencairn, Kirkcudbrightshire. Stuart is a member of Auchencairn History Society which is supporting his project.

This book is a 'must' purchase for anyone with an interest in local history but particularly those who had relatives involved in the conflict.

RASCARRELL MOSS FOREST NEWS PDF Print E-mail
George Brockbank, Forest Project Leader and a Director of Auchencairn Initiative has announced that the application to be considered to purchase the Rascarrell Moss Forest from the Forestry Commission as a community asset has gained the approval of the Forestry Commisions Evaluation Panel. It now passes for final consideration by the Director of Forestry.
