National Scenic Area Countryside Team

Ian Brown is the new Sulwath Connections National Scenic Area Communities Ranger. The post is supported by Dumfries and Galloway Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Ian will be promoting and encouraging the enjoyment of Dumfries and Galloway’s three National Scenic Areas by locals and visitors, and organising volunteers to maintain and improve these beautiful landscapes.

Over the next 2.5 years he will also be involved in projects that help to implement the Management Strategies that were developed for these Areas.

Ian will be working with an existing group of volunteers, previously co-ordinated by the National Trust for Scotland’s NSA Ranger, which was  funded by Leader +.
